Our Strategic Account Manager to Participate in the CEO Sleepout

When Sasha Hajenko, our beloved Strategic Account Manager, excitedly went around the office recently telling people he was going to be sleeping outside, we all thought he had gone a bit mad. Not only do the winter nights in Canberra get pretty chilly but he has a great job and a nice house. Why he would need to sleep outside was a concept beyond everyone here at Centrered.

It wasn’t until he told us that he was participating in Vinnies CEO Sleepout in Canberra that everything began to make sense. The event, which started in Sydney’s Parramatta in 2006, aims to raise money to directly assist people experiencing homelessness. The CEO Sleepout is now held in every province across the country with 13 cities and over 1,300 CEOs including Sasha taking part.

This year’s event will be held on 23rd June and Sasha, along with the other CEOs, are set to experience first-hand what it is like to sleep out in the cold. And while these participants are able to return to their warm homes and jobs the next day, for over 100,000 Australians there is little they can do to escape these harsh conditions.

That’s why every dollar the Vinnies CEO Sleepout raises helps provide crucial assistance to people experiencing homelessness, with the aim of breaking the cycle of homelessness permanently for as many people as possible. Last year Vinnies was able to provide the homeless and disadvantaged with nearly 1.5 million meals and close to 500,000 bed nights.

“By taking part in the CEO Sleepout I hope to make a difference to the over 100,000 Australians who do not have access to safe and secure housing, something that so many of us take for granted,” Sasha explains. “Your kind donation will help Vinnies provide much needed services and support to those in need and to fund the programs and initiatives that help the less fortunate change their circumstances and rebuild their lives.”

If you would like to support Sasha and make a donation you can do so here. He is hoping to raise $2,000 for the homeless by participating in the CEO Sleepout. Everyone here at Centrered commends him for his efforts and dedication to our local community. He is currently ranked 31st in donations raised out of the 87 CEOs scheduled to take part in Canberra and with your help he can continue to climb the ladder.
