Evan joined the Canberra Centrered team in early 2021 as a Modern Workplace Analyst in the Professional Services Team. He consults with our partners to help modernise the ways their staff work and get the most out of their Microsoft 365 suite.
Since joining the Centrered team, Evan says his favourite part has been working with a diverse group of clients and helping tackle their individual needs.
Evan describes himself as a “Big ol’ nerd”. Away from work, he spends a lot of free time (especially in lockdown) playing video games and board games with friends.
“Board games are a great way to spend time with mates while having something to focus on as a group.”
It might surprise you to learn that Evan is a national board game champion, and he was flown to the United States to compete in the world championship for the Star Wars: Imperial Assault boardgame.
When he’s not cleaning up the board, Evan is either going for a hike, taking a ride on his Triumph Tiger motorbike, or tending to the many important needs of his rescue cat, Pishi.
Lately, Evan has been really enjoying listening to ‘Queens of the Drone Age’, a very light-hearted Australian tech podcast.
“The hosts have great chemistry and the show is generally informative and always funny.”
When international travel is back on the cards, Evan can’t wait to visit Scandinavia. It has been at the top of his bucket list ever since he learned about the Aurora Borealis as a kid.
“I’d love to spend a few weeks roaming the Scandinavian countryside visiting fjords and other beautiful landmarks.”
As a child, he wanted to be an archaeologist or a vet, but now Evan likes to think that he spends his working hours excavating old files from machines and treating people’s ailing computers.
The best advice he has ever been given is some sound advice we can all take:
“You miss every shot you don’t take.”
