End of support for Windows Server and SQL Server 2008 – time to move to the cloud?

Enquire
Time to mark your diaries with yet another important tech update – the end of support for both Windows Server and SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2.

The first deadline is in fact not that far off – 9 July of this year. And that’s why careful planning and assistance from Centrered is important right now.

If you don’t plan your migration and upgrade strategy carefully, it may result in security breaches – once end of support hits, security updates stop altogether. Unfortunately, this means businesses such as yours may be vulnerable and completely open to security breaches.

Compliance is also of the utmost importance. Running software without security updates can break your compliance requirements.

This all means we need to think about a strategy now that includes uninterrupted critical security updates.

You have two options:

Take this as an opportunity to migrate your apps and data to Azure for cloud services and begin your cloud transformation

OR

For apps and data that need to stay on-premises, we can replace your current server with new hardware complete with the most current version of Windows and SQL.

We’re happy to talk you through these options in more detail and let you know what the choices would mean for you.
