Colin has been a part of the Centrered team for six months working in the Sales and Account Management team as their Sales Administrator. He does an amazing job preparing agreements for clients, updating sales budgets, creating client budgets and quotes, and being an well-rounded team player. He loves working as part of a great team and the flexible working arrangements available at Centrered.

His top IT-related tip is one that you may have heard before, but if you still haven’t taken this advice yet – stop reading and download one right now!

“Use a password manager! Like, seriously, stop using the same password for everything in your life.”

Away from Centrered, Colin likes spending time with his partner going on bushwalks, and he tries to go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. His family lives in Scotland, so he likes to video chat with them whenever he can.

Colin also has a very keen interest in the space industry. He likes to keep up to date with all the latest space developments and he loves watching rocket launches. It’s a dream for Colin to travel to space and see our planet for what it really is: “A small rock in an endless expanse”.

Colin is studying Cyber Security at CIT, and often finds himself disappearing down the never-ending rabbit hole that is blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

It might surprise you to learn though that Colin isn’t all about the world of technology – he is actually a qualified Canadian Level 2 snowboard instructor, and his favourite place in the world is a small town called Fernie that is nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains south of Calgary.

“I absolutely love snowboarding and it has provided me with some amazing experiences to date, but unfortunately I haven’t been to the slopes since moving to Australia.”

On top of his many interests, Colin has a great passion and interest in agriculture. In past roles as a farm worker, he loved being given the night shifts because of the peace and quiet.

Originating in Scotland and moving to Australia six years ago, Colin revealed something that would horrify most Australians when we asked him about the craziest thing he’s done:

“I threw a lump of dirt at a brown snake that was coming towards me and made it angry… in hindsight, this was probably not the best course of action…”

Colin really is a mixed bag of passions and obsessions; his other main interest might surprise you again.

“Among other things I also take a great interest in skincare – I spend far too much money on skin products and I wear sunscreen every day of the year, and so should you all!”
